Donald Ahrens was born on September 19, 1929, and peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 15, 2021 at the age of 91. He was united in marriage with MaryAnn at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan on December 16, 1950. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves. During his working years, Don was employed by the Vollrath Company for 43 years until his retirement. As a young boy and as an adult he raised his own homing racing pigeons and trained his own bird dogs. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and playing sheepshead with his wife at the Sheboygan Senior Center.
Donald is survived by his children, Barbara Martin of Oostburg, WI, Donna (Mike) Prezioso of Mission Viejo, CA, Maribeth (Joe) Trester of Sheboygan, WI and Donald Jr. of Sheboygan, WI; grandchildren, Bill Fahl and Jennie (August) Ristow; great-grandson, Cody Fahl; sister, Sandra (John) Melger and special friend, Marilyn. He is preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn and parents, Walter and Dorothy Ahrens.
In respect to Donald’s wishes, there will be no memorial service held.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Dr. Michael Johnson and his staff for the care given to Donald.
