Donald H. Smith, 80, of Sheboygan passed away on January 17, 2019 at Meadow View Nursing Home. Donald was born to the late Henry and Stella Smith on March 28, 1938 in Mitchell, WI. He graduated in the class of 1956 from Sheboygan Central High School. On January 25, 1957, Donald was united in marriage to Suzanne Klein at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He was employed at Bemis with 41 years of service. He will always be remembered as “Schmitty” with the white T-shirt and for his free spirit and good times. There was never a stranger he didn’t know.

Donald is survived by his wife Suzanne; children Irene Schultz, Pamela (Joe) Darling, Henry Smith, and Mary Jo (Jim) Ott; grandchildren Tyler, Brittany, Erica, and Tanya; great grandchildren Natalie, Ethan, George, Ryker and Waylon. He is further survived by his sister Patricia Tomazin and Dolly Nack.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Robert Leary, LeRoy Leary, Daniel Leary, Catherine Phrange-Chadwick, Margaret Gasser, Daniel Smith, Irene Smith, and Maymie Bintzler.

A funeral service will be held for Donald at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.

The family would like to thank the caregivers Tanya, Anna, Billy Jo, Alex as well as the staff at Meadow View Nursing Home. A special thank you to the ICU staff at St. Mary’s in Green Bay and the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
