Donald “Don” Newman passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 69. He was originally from Ashland, Wisconsin, and lived in West Allis before moving to Sheboygan in 1986 when he was married to Patty (Oetzel) Newman in 1988 for 36 years.
Don was proud of his military time with the Marine Corps Reserves, was an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and working for 30 plus years with the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in security. But most of all Don was proud of his children and daughter-in-law.
He enjoyed watching old movies, listening to old time music, and building model airplanes. You could always find him outside doing something to keep busy.
Don is survived by his wife, Patty, his two children, daughter Christine Newman, and son and daughter-in-law Nathan (Sierra) Newman and his two grand pups, Titan and Clio. He is also survived by his brother Dale Newman, sisters Denise (Fred) Miester, and Dawn (Joe) Whited, mother-in-law Loraine Oetzel and brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law Mike (Hui Ok) Oetzel and Mark (Melinda) Oetzel, along with many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Theresa Newman and father-in-law Myron Oetzel
