Dorothy M. Ott, age 99, of Sheboygan Falls, died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her home. She was born in Sheboygan on November 28, 1922, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Eberhardy Gonering.
Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1940. She worked at Polar Ware Company and H.C. Prange Company before her marriage to Roger Ott on June 16, 1951. They lived in Tomahawk, WI for two and a half years before moving back to Sheboygan. Roger preceded Dorothy in death on July 11, 2018.
Dorothy was a current member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, past president of St. Anne’s Christian Mothers Society and a life member of the Apostolate of Suffering of the Good Samaritan Guild. She volunteered at church for many years and spent her summers camping with her family and traveling.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Ott, of Milwaukee; three sons, Thomas Ott, of Sheboygan Falls, James (Mary Jo) Ott, of Sheboygan, and Joseph Ott, of Wichita, KS; one grandson, Tyler (Carrissa) Ott, of Sheboygan; a great granddaughter, Natalie; and great grandson, Ethan; her brother, Francis (Karen) Gonering, of Naples, FL; and a brother-in-law, Albert (Pauline) Ott, of Minneapolis, MN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, John, Eugene, Harold, and Dennis Gonering, her sister, Loretta Nikolai, a brother-in-law, William Nikolai, sisters-in-law, Victoria, Charolette, Mary and Veronica Gonering, and twin great-granddaughters, Hannah, and Kaitlyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
