Dunja Basic, age 74, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Mostar, Bosnia on April 29, 1946, the daughter of the late Dzemal Basic and Camila Bise.
Dunja attended schools in Mostar, Bosnia. She was employed as a secretary and actress at the Abrasevic Performing Arts and Cultural Arts Center in Bosnia. Dunja loved traveling to many countries in Europe, and spending time with family especially her grandson, Emin. Dunja enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and watching TV. She was known for her good sense of humor and advice that she would give to others.
Survivors include her son, Haris (Gina) Makic; three grandchildren, Emin, Brittani (Jose) and Austin (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Ana, Joscelin, Bentley, Addison and Aria; and her two sisters, Dijana (Fikret) Herdic and Sena (Sevkija) Hadziosmanovic; and sister-in-law, Dragica Basic. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive. Dunja was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Mirsad Basic and her nephew, Nermin Hadziosmanovic.
Family and friends may gather for graveside service to be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
A memorial fund for Dunja has been established to help the family with funeral expenses. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center staff for the compassion and care that was given to her.
