Edward J. Paul, 97, of Sheboygan passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Abridge Care Cottages in Chilton with his daughter at his side. Edward was born in Sheboygan on July 28, 1926, to William and Eva Paul. He attended local public schools and graduated from Central High School in 1944. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea and earned the Bronze Star with valor for his bravery. He married Marjorie “Peggy” Knocke on November 8,1952 at Immaculate Conception Church in Sheboygan. Peggy preceded him in death on June 29, 2005. Edward was employed in construction for Ebenreiter Lumber Company, Lee Realty and Don Reineking Construction. During his retirement years he worked for Riverdale Golf Course and Brunette’s Ace Hardware. He loved to golf at Riverdale Country Club and was an avid reader visiting Mead Public Library often.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Heinrich, and his son John (Laurie) Paul, both of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Darrin) Kehl, his grandson Paul (Amanda Garcia) Heinrich, and great-grandsons, William Garcia Heinrich, Noah Kehl, and Beckham Garcia Heinrich. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, John, William, Anton “Skippy”, Margaret Vranak, Annie Males and Elva Melvin.
A private family graveside service was held on Thursday, February 22 at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Edward in his final months.
