Elroy “Roy” Ertel

Elroy Ertel was born on December 21, 1952 and passed away on March 21, 2026 at the age of 73. He attended local schools including Sheboygan North High School. After schooling he went into the workforce and then served in the United States Airforce and Nation Guard. During his working years, he was employed by Polar Ware for many years until his retirement. Roy enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, going to Skateland Roller Rink, playing Sheepshead and was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Roy is survived by his fiancé, Dawn Brownson; daughters, Amy Luedke and Tammy Ertel (fiancé Darryl Krenn) and son, Paul Ertel (Traci Harris); grandchildren, Nicole Sartori, Ethan Sartori, Emily Luedke, Abel Ertel and Kaleb Ertel; siblings, Myron Ertel, Janette Mewes, Sandy (Dickie) Damrow, Verlin (Sue) Ertel and Brenda Ertel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Elroy Sr. and Florence Ertel and sisters, Marlene Maxey and Lucille Halverson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12:15 p.m.

Dawn and family. So sorry to hear about Roy’s passing. We had many great times at Anglers watching packer games and drinking buckets of Corona. We are in Texas and just found out he is no longer with us. He will truly be missed.
