Elvera “Vera” J. Nitsch

Elvera “Vera” J. Nitsch, age 85, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with family at her side. She was born on August 30, 1935 to the late Bernard and Sylvia (Schreurs) Jensema.
Vera attended rural schools in the Hingham and Gibbsville area. On December 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to William Nitsch. He preceded her in death in May of 2015. Vera was a proud homemaker and wife to her family.
Vera enjoyed her trips to the casino and “taking money” from her friends while playing cards and other games. She also loved her Southern Comfort Old Fashions. Most of all, Vera enjoyed watching sports. She attended every sporting competition her grandchildren participated in and loved watching her Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Wisconsin & Marquette basketball teams.
Survivors include her two children, Steven (Barbara) Nitsch and Sandy Nitsch, both of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Katie (Paul) Pachniak, of Pleasant Prairie and Matthew Nitsch, of Sheboygan; a sister, Sharon (Larry) Martin, of Sussex; two brothers, Ronny (Mary) Jensema, of Oostburg and Neil (Judy) Jensema, of Sheboygan Falls; a sister-in-law, Linda Jensema, of Cedar Grove; a brother-in-law, James Nitsch, of Sheboygan, and her special friends, Phyllis and Jerry Rausch and Judy and Marge. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, Bruce, a sister, Marilyn Stokdyk, a brother, Duane Jensema and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A funeral service for Vera will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street Sheboygan with Rev. Adam L. Scheblein officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Vera’s family would also like to thank the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the compassion and care that was given to her. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com
