Eugene C. Rudie March 29, 1929 – February 5, 2025, Eugene C. Rudie, age 95, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on March 29, 1929, in Sheboygan to the late Norman and Esther (Wilke)Rudie.
After graduating from high school, Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Army, spending time overseas during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family. On June 25, 1955, he married the love of his life, Iris Wolfgram, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He dedicated 24 years of his career to the Kohler Company, working in the Brass Division until his retirement in 1993.
A longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eugene was a man of faith and kindness. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—golfing with “The Legends” at Riverdale along with fishing, hunting, and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, his three sons, Michael (Michele) of Waldo, Jeffery (Carol) Rudie of Sheboygan, and Alan Rudie of Alma, CO; his sister, Donna Janke of northern Wisconsin; and his sister-in-law, Vicki (Tom) Hamilton of Mequon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Ralph, Donnie, and Norm Rudie; and his sister, Lois Anderson.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12thStreet, Sheboygan, with Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum at Lutheran Cemetery.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care during Eugene’s final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eugene’s name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
