Francha “Fran” M. Grandlic, age 91, September 13,1934 – January 18, 2026. Upon completion of a long, well-lived life, Fran entered eternal life on January 18, 2026, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls where she had been a resident for the past nine months.
Fran was born September 13,1934 in Sheboygan to Hugo “Ham” and Becky Bollenbeck Meyer. She attended St. Clement grade school and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1952. She then attended the Cradle Nursing School in Evanston, Illinois.
On July 2,1955 she married John (Jack) Grandlic. She and Jack welcomed two children, John Scott Grandlic and Daniel Hugo Grandlic. Sadly, both of Fran’s sons pre-deceased her. She and Jack were well known in the Sheboygan area for their work ethic, their community involvement and their warm welcoming hospitality. Fran was famous for her chili, lasagna and a multitude of delicious desserts. She always had a pot of coffee, a sweet treat or a cheese and cracker spread for anyone that stopped by. In recent years Fran enjoyed a large 90th birthday party at the Sheboygan Yacht Club where her family and friends gathered to celebrate her.
Fran loved her family and her countless dear friends. She had a sharp sense of humor and always looked for the good in people and in any situation. She loved nature and animals. Much of Fran’s life was devoted to her love of horses. She and Jack operated Pine Rock Ranch in Sheboygan until their retirement. She gave riding lessons, boarded horses, was very involved in horse shows, 4-H, the Reins program and the Black River Riding Club. Fran served as a director of the Wisconsin State Horse Council. She was a founding member of the Friends of Kohler-Andrae – a group of volunteers for the betterment of the state park. Fran served as President of both for 21 years and as a board member for 31 years. She served time on the Board of the Black River Advancement Association and as Treasurer. Later in life she was employed at Meadowview Manor as an activity aide. Fran and Jack enjoyed many trips to Colorado, Florida and Arizona in their motor home.
Fran was a woman of faith and was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
Fran is survived by her grandchildren Christopher (Reina) Grandlic, Heather (Matt) Mayer, Elizabeth (Kyle) Raml, Adam (Livy) Grandlic, Ryan (Clarissa) Grandlic, Patrick Van Horn, Brennan Van Horn and Casey Van Horn. She is further survived by six great grandchildren, Spencer (Rebecca) Mayer, Hunter Mayer, Makeila (Peyton) Capelli, Tristin Mayer, Danielle Raml, Weston Raml and Lakelyn Grandlic. Fran was also blessed with a great great grandson, Atlas Mayer. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Julia (Peter) Panasiuk, special nephews, Tom (Maria) D’Amico and Steve (Sue) D’Amico, close friends Don and Mary Pat Guske as well as many other family members and friends. Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, her sons Scott and Dan, her brother Bob, sister Barbara and many family members and close friends.
The family would like to thank the compassionate care she received at Pine Haven Christian Home and from Sharon Richardson Hospice.
A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
