Frank R. Jakel V, age 51, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was born in Sheboygan on September 23, 1972, the son of the late Frank S. IV and Ronnafran Goeks Jakel.
Frank attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1991 where he played as the quarterback for the North High Raiders football team. He was also very active in Boy Scouts where he attained the Eagle Scout rank. His parents were always alongside him and were troop leaders. After high school, Frank became an owner/operator of 3F Transport.
On July 29, 2015, he was united in marriage to Maria Roth.
He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go hunting, fishing,spending lots of time at Pelican Lake in Onieda County, and riding his Harley Davidson. Frank also enjoyed snowmobiling and played softball for numerous Sheboygan teams. He was a fan of all Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Spending time with loved ones, helping friends, family, and anyone that needed anything is what Frank was known for, along with his extreme love for coffee. Most importantly, Frank loved his wife dearly and did everything he could to make sure she was always taken care of.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Jakel, of Sheboygan; three step-children, Mike (Heather) Lukaszewski, of Sheboygan, Joey (Nicole) Lukaszewski, of Sheboygan Falls, and Kaylene (Nate) Falkowski, of Belgium; seven step-grandchildren, Lily, Maddy, Bentley, Jax, Beau, Bradley, and Mackenzie; his mother-in-law, Marvelyn Roth, of Batavia; three sisters-in-law, Sue (Scott) Leaverton, of Mayville, Sandra Roth, of Sheboygan, and Nancy Andrews, of Batavia; two brothers-in-law, Joe Roth, of Sheboygan, and Frank Roth, of Trempealeau. Frank is also survived by his close friends, Mark and Mary Baumann, of Plymouth, Tim Meier, of Monico, and Nathan Johnston, of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two uncles, Al Zaletel and Reinold Goeks, best friend Dean Jost, and sister-in-law Debbie Ulbrich (Roth).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 822 New Jersey Ave. Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at church on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery.
