Frederick “Fritz” P. Stanisch, age 91, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Sheboygan Senior Community.  He was born in Sheboygan on October 10, 1927, the son of the late Oscar and Clara Smith Stanisch.

Fritz attended local schools in the Sheboygan area.  He then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard when he was sixteen years old and later joined the U.S. Army during World War II and was discharged in 1947.  On January 8, 1955 he was united in marriage to Frances Stempihar at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan.  She preceded him in death in November of 2014.

He worked as a metal polisher at Polar Ware Company for over forty years, retiring in 1992.  Fritz was “Special Deputy” for the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department for many years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.

Survivors include his three children, Fred (Deborah) Stanisch, of Sheboygan, Cindy (Ed) Evanoff, of Sheboygan Falls and Tori (Mike) Brott, of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Angela (James) Reinhardt, Marc (Leah) Stanisch, Lesile Brown, Elisabeth (Cory) Frisch, Fred (Laura) Stanisch Jr. and Michael Brott; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.  Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and his two brothers, Oscar and Orville Stanisch.

A funeral service for Frederick will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12^th St. Sheboygan with Deacon Rich Gulig officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.  Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park with VFW Post 9156 providing full military honors.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Fred’s name.  A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Sheboygan Senior Community and especially to Joyce for the compassion and care that was given to him.
