Gary Laux was born on September 25, 1951 and passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 72. He attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School with the class of 1970 and continued his education at UW-Platteville graduating in 1974. Gary was then united in marriage with Joann Gross on September 7, 1974, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. During his working years, he was employed at Vinyl Plastics until his retirement on January 1, 2014. Gary was very involved in UAW Local 1332 being president for over 30 years and on the CAP council and scholarship committee. He was also a very active member of St. Paul’s UCC in Sheboygan. Gary enjoyed golfing and family golf trips with one of his biggest accomplishments being a hole in one on hole 8 at Riverdale.
Gary is survived by his wife, Joann; children, Peter (Barbara) Laux and Jon (Araceli) Laux; grandchildren, Maggie, Miles, Will, Maddie and Mila Laux and brothers, Richard (Tama) Laux and Jerome (significant other Kay) Laux. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Caroline.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at St. Paul’s UCC, 2114 Wedemeyer St., Sheboygan, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s UCC in Gary’s name.
