Gary Ehlers, 74, of Sheboygan, passed away at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on December 3, 2023. Gary was born in Hartford, WI on October 5, 1949. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1967. Gary was united in marriage to Marne Stelter on August 29, 1987 in Marne’s parent’s beautiful, wooded backyard. He worked in agronomy as a pesticide applicator and other various outdoor positions. He loved his horses, nature, camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a gifted artist and enjoyed vacationing along the Great Lakes. Above all, he loved his family and friends. He had a Big Heart and made sure his family and friends were Happy and shared in his outdoor activities. He loved Lake Michigan and enjoyed his retirement in Sheboygan. Gary will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marne; sons, Eon (Crystal) Ehlers and Waylon (Jessica) Ehlers both of Reedsburg, WI; grandchildren, Brianna and Addie Ehlers, Skyler, Layla and Mason Ehlers; sister, Barbara Hennig of Wautoma; brother, Glen (Brenda) Ehlers of Mayville, WI.
Gary was preceded by his Dear son Cody Ehlers, parents Melvin and Jen Ehlers, and brother-in-law John Hennig.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with Gary’s nephew, Pastor John Stelter, officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m.
