Gary Roy Jaap was born on May 2, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI to the late William and Gladys Jaap. He passed away at home on February 21, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen; two children, Amy Jaap and Andrew (Sara) Jaap; grandchildren, Sydney (Zachary) Hall, Mason Jaap, and Collin Jaap: and great grandchild Hatteras Hall. He is further survived by other friends and family. He is preceded in death by siblings William (Julie) Jaap, Sr Audrey Mozejewski, and Patricia (Jack) Susnick.
Gary was known for always being willing to lend a helping hand without asking for anything in return. He chose to reserve judgement and look for the good in others. He was also a man of many talents which led him to different hobbies and careers. His mechanical aptitude led him to one of his life’s careers of operating a service station including towing and snow plowing. His love of the carnival led him to his last career, traveling throughout northern Wisconsin and setting up his games at local fairs. As much as he loved to travel around Wisconsin, he also treasured time at home with family, and enjoying hobbies such as painting, cooking, and fixing anything and everything.
Per Gary’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorials in his name can be made to Wisconsin Parkinson Association.
