Even though we mourn the loss of our dad, Gerhard (Gerry) Jacob Ebbers, age 87, we rejoice in his home going to His Faithful Lord and Savior on Christmas day, December 25, 2022.
Gerry was born September 16, 1935, the youngest of seven children to Lammert and Elberdina Cornelia (Schut) in Ermelo, The Netherlands.
In May of 1954, Gerry immigrated to Canada. In Canada he met the love of his life, Teuny Stolker, at the wedding of his sister and brother-in-law, Corry and Ted Vlaming. They were married on July 26, 1958, at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Weston, Ontario, Canada. Teuny preceded him in death on April 24, 2020.
In 1962, the family moved to Sheboygan where Gerry worked for a few weeks at Buteyn Excavating, then at TeSele Auto Dealership, and retiring from The Sheboygan Glass Company in 2000 after 35 years.
Gerry was an active member of Christ Community Church and served His Lord and Savior with gladness. He served as Sunday School Superintendent at Beacon Light Chapel. Gerry also served as an elder and deacon and on other various committees in church.
Gerry and Teuny were involved with Meals on Wheels and The Good As New Shop in Cedar Grove for the Sheboygan Christian School.
