I met Harold in middle school, at a youth fellowship retreat. He, Keith Laughlin, and I were best friends through high school and into college. He was amazingly focused and productive. Delivered newspapers, fixed up and maintained a couple MGBs, built a travel trailer from scratch, helped his mom and sister as the “man” of the house after his father died, and saved up to buy a house. All before he graduated from high school! We had some wonderful times listening to The Doors, Cream, and Jimi Hendrix in his trailer parked in his mom’s backyard. Harold was a good friend. We double and triple dated together. We grew up together. I regret not having stayed more in touch after we both moved away from Ann Arbor, but I can still hear his laugh. Goodbye my friend. It was good knowing you.
