Hermine R. Grasse

Hermine R. Grasse, age 96, of Kohler, died on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. She was born in Sheboygan on April 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Falle Ribich.
Hermine attended grade school and church at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. She then attended St. John’s Nursing School in Springfield, Illinois. Hermine moved to Santa Monica, California to work at the Veterans Hospital. When she moved back to Sheboygan, she took a nursing position at St. Nicholas Hospital and started her family. She was married to Walter James Grasse in 1950.
Hermine was a current member St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler, her Catholic faith was especially important to her. She took great pride in making rosaries for veterans with a group of women at church. Hermine enjoyed golf, traveling and painting. She had a fondness of the West which led her to spend many years in Scottsdale, Arizona as a part-time resident.
Survivors include her four children: Tom (Sharon) Grasse, Tim (Sue) Grasse, Jamie (Jim) Kitzinger, and Ted (Jill) Grasse; five grandchildren: TJ, Nikki, David, Kevin, and Jack; two step-grandchildren: Bryan, and Nolan; four great-grandchildren: Teddy, Ari, Eleanora, and Magnolia; and her sister, Diane Bachmann. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive. Hermine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Joan Ribich, a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Rudy Mahler, and her sister, Jennie Ribich.
In accordance with Hermine’s wishes a private funeral service will be held. The burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
Donations in Hermine’s name can be made to St. Nicholas Hospital, the Salvation Army, or the charity of your choice. A thank you is extended to the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Special thanks also to her in home caregiver, for the compassion and care that was given to Hermine.

We are so sorry to hear about Hermie’s passing. She had been on my mind as i recently came across a card she sent after my mom died, She was such a dear friend to our mom. I always enjoyed seeing her. We will keep you all in our prayers. I’m sure my mom is so happy to be reunited with her. Love & prayers♥️
