Irene Freda Nelson, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was born in Stratford, Wisconsin on October 31, 1938, the daughter of the late George and Margaret Kaiser Kreidler.
Irene was raised and attended schools in the Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls area. On May 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to David G. Nelson in Sheboygan. Irene and David were married 56 years before he passed in 2012. For many years Irene, along with her husband, managed their own investment property business. She was a current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Irene enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Irene is survived by three children, Ruth (Edward) Kletzien, Patricia Nelson, John Nelson; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura) Kletzien, Bethany (Ben Blitz) Nelson, Timothy (Abbey) Kletzien, Linsey Nelson; four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary Kletzien, Eric Kletzien, and Abigail Blitz. She is further survived by two brothers, Albert (Margie) Kreidler, Frank (Pat) Kreidler, three sister-in-laws, Cynthia (Art) Epping, Julie (Gerald) Damkot, Geraldine Kreidler along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband, son David, four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
A memorial service for Irene will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Irene’s name.
