James “Jim” Leibham

James “Jim” Leibham, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center on July 3, 2025. Jim was born to the late Sebastian and Nellie (Batt) Leibham on March 14, 1933. He graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1952. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years. Jim was united in marriage to Judith Morrelle on October 17, 1959 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. As a young man, Jim worked for his brother Norm and went on to work at other service stations. After that he worked for Sheboygan Transit as a mechanic for 24 years. He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church for more than 50 years and helped with September Fest and Emmanus Meals. Jim loved anything related to cars and car shows – his special cars were a 1940 Chevrolet 2-door and a 1962 Chevrolet convertible. He and Judy had a very special group of family and friends that got together for many dinners over 45 years. They also loved to travel to many warm destinations, especially Mexico. Jim’s greatest happiness in life was his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy; children, Juli Harmelink (Brett Delong) and Brian (Wendy) Leibham; grandchildren, Jenny (Nate) Bichler, Josh (Andrea) Harmelink, Samantha (Scott) Plude, Sara (Andrew) Kershaw; great-grandchildren, Will and Logan Bichler, Kendall and Jackson Harmelink, Kathryn Plude and Emma Plude.
He is preceded in death by his his siblings, Gert (Emil) Chuck, Norm (Netta) Leibham, Lucille (Ray) Herr and Beatrice (Milton) Schwalbe. He is further preceded by George Morrelle, Renate Morrelle, Roger Blake and Matt Hartmann.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Sheboygan County, Salvation Army Sheboygan and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
A “Thank You” to the caregivers at Rocky Knoll 1N and a special Thank You to CNA Eddie. The family would also like to thank the hospice team from Sharon S. Richardson for all the care and support they received during his last days.
