Janice E. Trempe, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, age 87, was called home to her Lord and Savor on May 5, 2024. Janice was born to the late Arthur and Marie Krenz in Upham, ND on Feb 17, 1937. She attended Concordia Lutheran, Seward, NE graduating high school in 1955 and college in 1959. It is here where she prepared herself to be a Lutheran School teacher. Her first two years following college were spent teaching in York Town, IA. In 1961 she accepted a call to teach kindergarten at Bethlehem Lutheran in Sheboygan, WI. While in Sheboygan, in addition to teaching, she continued her love of music Hi with her involvement in the Lutheran Chorus. It is in the Lutheran Chorus where she met her husband, Robert. On June 19, 1965 they married and soon started a family.

Janice’s life centered around her family and faith. She had a love of volunteering including at Bethlehem Lutheran and Lutheran High School, both in Sheboygan. In addition to her love of singing in church choirs she both played and taught piano and played the organ for services. Her love of education and reading was a consistent theme throughout her life.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Judith; sister, Joanne Amundson, and long time friend and fellow teacher, Elaine Ebert. She is survived by her three children, Robert, Janelle, and Jennifer Trempe; daughters-in-law, Erika Voss and Bobbi Weedon; her three grandchildren, Olivia, Jackson, and Levi and siblings, Marlene Schmidt and Ronald Krenz.

Janice was greatly appreciative of those who helped support her toward the end of her life including those at Meadow Lakes in Rochester, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Concordia Lutheran University, Seward, NE, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Lutheran High School, and Rochester Central Lutheran School, Rochester, MN (RCLS).
