Janice Ella (Whiffen) Pfister, 93, received a most glorious birthday gift as on Saturday May 1, 2021 she gained her eternal wings and went home where the streets are golden and the angels sing.
Janice was born on May 1, 1928 to Fred and Margaret Whiffen (Huibregtse) in Newton, WI. Janice graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1947.
On May 15, 1954, Janice was united in marriage to Theodore (Ted) Pfister, until his death on December 28, 1986. Janice was employed at Polar Ware and at Geuder, Paeschke & Frey prior to her marriage.
Janice was a member of the Salvation Army, becoming a soldier in 1987. Her relationship with her friends within the Salvation Army was truly a god-send for her, and she very much enjoyed all the activities and relationships. She was a Greeter before church services for many years.
Janice loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her beautiful flowers and gardens around her home (especially her window boxes), her weekly Happy Hearts get-togethers at the Salvation Army, and was an AARP member. Janice liked to embroider dish towels, doing dot-to-dot books, watching the Young and the Restless and Dancing with the Stars, and followed the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. Janice also looked forward to her daily Meals on Wheels lunches and the short chats with the wonderful delivery folks.
Although Janice never had a drivers license, she enjoyed many nice travels, including trips to California, Florida, Oregon, and all around the Midwest.
She prayed daily that all of the members of her family would accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, as well as praying for all of their safe travels. Janice is survived by a son Randall Pfister (Cindy), Green Bay. She is further survived by 2 grandchildren, Ryan (Jess) Pfister, Neenah, and Kelly (Ray) Siler, Readstown. Janice had 7 great grandchildren, Jack Klundt, Owen Klundt, Elsy Pfister, Rhys Pfister, Hadley Siler, Willow Siler, and Rio Siler. She is also survived by nieces Cheryl Lohse, Kiel and Jane Mathes, Sheboygan, and a nephew Larry Pfister, McFarland.

Janice had many, many wonderful friends who helped her for many years with transportation for church, doctor appointments, shopping, events, etc., including Ron and Arlene Schroeder, Sandy and Rod McCall, Wilma Line, and Carol and Don Ingram. Her neighbors were always important for her as well, especially Terry and Fay Rose. The family cannot thank these people (and many, many others) enough for their friendship and compassion, and for always keeping a watchful and caring eye out on Janice.
She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore (Ted), her parents, a brother Frederick Whiffen, and sisters Violet (Whiffen) Resop, Mercedes Whiffen, and Marilyn Whiffen, niece Judy Gordon, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Friends may call at the Salvation Army, 710 Pennsylvania Ave., Sheboygan on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Major Jay Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com.
Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Meals on Wheels

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me;
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the under side.

Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver’s skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

As a Meals on Wheels volunteer, it was my pleasure to talk on the phone with Janice a couple times a week since March 2020. Janice was always positive, and I loved to hear her laugh. May she rest in peace.
