My loving condolences to Jeff's family and friends. I graduated Port High with Jeff in 1974. I did not know Jeff well but I knew the entire class had a special fondness for Jeff. A very special memory of Jeff occurred during our graduation ceremony. The class was called to the stage alphabetically so I went just before Jeff. For me and most students, the amount of applause was minimal. I hardly got off stage when Jeff's name was called. The class erupted with "Spear.....Spear.. . .Spear". Jeff humbly and graciously walked to the stage. A very fond memory of a good man.
