Jennifer J. Johnson, age 77, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born in Sheboygan on October 15, 1948, to the late Robert and Virginia (Kross) Jung.
Jennifer attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1967, where her congeniality was recognized by her fellow student body by being elected as social event chairperson on the student council. Jennifer went on to earn an Associate of Arts in Retailing from Virginia Intermont College as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was later united in marriage to Dale A. Johnson, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love. In 1987, Jennifer and Dale moved to Eau Claire, where she managed the local Prange’s Department Store, while Dale served as a professor at University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Jennifer found great joy in her work in customer service and retail management and was also employed at Marshall Field’s, Younkers, J.C. Penney, Victoria’s Secret, and Dillard’s. She most recently retired from The Emporium Gift Shop in Kohler. Jennifer was well known for her infectious positive attitude and for going above and beyond in her roles, as she earned numerous awards and accolades for her leadership and dedication to superior customer service.
Jennifer and Dale shared a truly remarkable marriage, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. It is difficult to imagine two people more devoted to one another. Dale preceded her in death after 41 years of marriage on May 8, 2022.
Jennifer will be remembered as one of the kindest and most thoughtful individuals one could ever know. She had a remarkable way of making others feel remembered and valued—never missing a birthday, holiday, or special occasion without sending a heartfelt card or message, often accompanied by a thoughtful note and a small gift. Her generosity, warmth, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was a member of the Black River Advancement Association and enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends, and savoring a good glass of wine. Her gentle spirit, kindness, and enduring thoughtfulness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her brother, James Jung; her niece, Jill (Dan) Van Maaren, and her nephew, Justin (fiancé Parisha) Jung. Many other relatives and friends survive. Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, John Jung.

I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Jennifer.. We were friends for over 50 years….. We walked to school together and even had our sweet 16 birthday party together…..We lost a little contact over the years but reconnected finding out we were doing the same job as personal shoppers for the same company, Dayton’s some 30 years later…… Jennifer was elegance and class and the kindest person I have ever known…. Some people are just forever friends and I will always consider you that kind of friend ….. RIP until we can reconnect again…..I will always hold you in my heart and ASAP ….. always say a prayer of thankfulness for having the privilege to call you my friend……
My heart broke when I heard about the loss of Jennifer. I had the great privilege of working with her when she broke her collarbone last year. As her in home caregiver I spent a great deal of very special time with her, helping her with all her daily tasks she was unable to do while recovering. After her recovery we remained very close and loved our phone, text and in-person visits. Everywhere we went people seemed to know her and were delighted to see her!
She was indeed one of the most gracious, sweet and caring individuals I’ve ever known.
I’m grieved to have missed her memorial as I was in Seattle helping a family member who just lost her husband. If anyone can reach out to me and let me know if there’s any way for me to pay my respects I’d appreciate it.
I have been praying for loved ones left behind and will continue to do so. May you find peace in knowing she is with our Heavenly Father. 🙏🏻❤️
I’m just shocked and heartbroken to hear the news of Jennifer’s passing. Knowing Jennifer 70+ years, I called her my forever friend. She was as definitely a true friend! Condolences and deepest sympathies to the Jung family❤️😍💐Carole
I feel so blessed to have known Jennifer. Her faith in God was strong, and she reflected God's love everywhere she went. As a prelude to handling challenges, she used to quote something her brother shared with her: ASAP = Always Say A Prayer. Jennifer referred to the two of us as "soul sisters," and we surely were. What a beautiful difference a single life made in the lives of so many others.
I was so saddened when I saw this. Jennifer worked for me for 6 years at Marshall Fields/Daytons in Eau Claire. She was so lovely then…always gracious and kind. I ran into her a year ago at Ulta Beauty in Sheboygan. We had a wonderful conversation and shared life’s latest challenges and events. I thought of her often since then and am sad that we never did do lunch, as we intended. RIP Jennifer…this world will miss your true kindness.
Jennifer, I miss you terribly. I just know you're so excited to be back in Dale's arms. I know how much you missed him. I'm so grateful for your friendship and will see you again one day. Thinking of you always.
JJ, my sweet mentor & dear friend, you will truly be missed. From helping me write my very first resume, to our Clinique days, to COVID phone calls, & guiding me into the real estate world, I will forever cherish our time together. You were the brightest & warmest soul in every room. It brings me comfort knowing you’re with your sweetheart again. I wouldn’t be the businesswoman I am today without you. Those wine nights & long calls were the best. Sending lots of love.
We will miss working with Jennifer at the Black River Museum. She is one of the nicest people and we had so many nice conversations., She was truly beautiful inside and out.
Jennifer was truly a one of kind Gem. I had the pleasure of meeting her at her neighbors home. She was a very beautiful women and she instantly made feel like her friend. I would try to visit her a the Gift Shop and she was always so pleasant. She would send me hand written cards thanking me for helping her with products she would get from me. Heaven sure gained a Angel and now she will be with her Husband. I will miss seeing you Jennifer and Thanks for all your kindness.
Jennifer was such a wonderful person and truly treasured. She always lit up a room and made you feel like you mattered when there would be chaos all around. She would give the best advice when you needed it and could be counted on for an inspirational quote or fun story. Thank you for all the special moments, Jennifer.
