Jerome “Jerry” A. Laux, age 83, of Sheboygan, died on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born in Sheboygan on June 28, 1942, to the late Milford and Caroline Senbeil Laux.
Jerry attended local schools and he graduated from the first class of Sheboygan South High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Janet Weber on August 5, 1974, in Baltimore, Maryland. Janet preceded him in death on August 8, 2010.
He was employed at Kohler Company in the Brass Department from 1965 until his retirement in 2005. Jerry was also a member of the Quarter Century Club at the Kohler Company.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks, and vacationing in Fort Myers, Fl, over the years. He also liked to watch Josh and Jared Govek (Tracie and Peter’s sons) play basketball at South High School over the years. In his earlier years he was a member of the Great Lakes Sport Fisherman’s Club. Jerry also adored his cats.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly (Tom) Halbach, of Sheboygan Falls; a brother, Richard (Tama) Laux, of Sheboygan; his fiancée Kay Thorson, of Sheboygan, and Kay’s daughter and dear friend to Jerry, Tracie (Peter) Govek, of Sheboygan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends further survive. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Gary Laux.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Pastor Chis McNight officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center ICU, and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be directed to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
