Joan J. Reisinger, age 91, of Sheboygan, passed on to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Sunny Ridge Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Sheboygan on November 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Peter and Marie Yurk Schmidt.
Joan attended St. Paul Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1950. On April 4, 1953, Joan was united in marriage to Herbert J. Reisinger. Herbert preceded her in death on June 7, 2016. Joan was a bookkeeper for Ebenreiter Lumber, Kohler Company, and Gottsacker Insurance.
She was a current member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Joan taught Sunday School at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Our Saviors Lutheran Church and volunteered at Bethlehem Lutheran Church as well. She was an avid reader, a sports fan, and she loved to challenge her mind with word and Sudoku puzzles. Joan was also deeply family oriented; she loved God and her family above all else. She had a deep attachment to her last great-grandchild, Mason Lawrence Kolosso, and she adored her beloved son-in-law, Randall Beyer.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Randall) Beyer; grandchildren, Julie and Vicki Reisinger, and Amanda Klein; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, William Schmidt; and her daughter-in-law, Carol Reisinger. Other relatives and friends further survive. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin sons, a son, Lawrence Reisinger, two sisters, Marion Feld, and Lois Gregory, her sister-in-law, Diane Schmidt, and her two brothers-in-law, George Reisinger Jr., and Raymond Feld.
A memorial service for Joan will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 917 Mead Ave. Sheboygan, with Rev. James Schulz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
