Joan M. Kolodzinski, age 85, of Sheboygan, died on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Sheboygan Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan. She was born on December 14, 1936, the daughter of the late Frank and Loretta Kearney Whitty.
Joan attended local schools in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Milwaukee South Division High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Kolodzinski on August 17, 1957, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Robert preceded her in death on March 9, 1997.
Joan worked in the kitchen and performed custodial duties at many places which include the Knights of Columbus and the VFW 9156 in Sheboygan. She was a current member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, and past member of The Doves Club in Milwaukee, and a Cub Scout and Brownie Leader. Joan enjoyed bowling, puzzles, bingo, reading, playing cards and many other games. She also was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and loved going to the casino with her sister Pat.
Survivors include her children, Theresa (Richard) Saaman, of Sheboygan, Diane (Scott) Weiss, of Mondovi, WI, Bill (Beth) Kolodzinski, of Elroy, WI, Mary Jane (Jack) Komoroski, of Sheboygan, Amy (Eugene Jr.) Kunstman, of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Stacy (Ben) Kluge, Tyler Weiss, Emily (Aaron) Gibson, Allison (Trystan) Houzner, Jacob Kolodzinski, Joshua Kolodzinski, Shannon and Heidi Wirt, and Brandon and Benjamin Kunstman; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jackson, Eli and Finn; a son-in-law, Jim (Shelley) Bagemehl; brother-in-law, Thomas (Carol) Kolodzinski; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kolodzinski. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Laura Bagemehl, two brothers, Richard and Robert, an infant brother, sisters, Colleen, Joyce, and Pat and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Gertrude Kolodzinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan with Rev. Mark Brandl officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Sheboygan Progressive Care Center and Aurora Hospice Team for the compassion and care that was given to her. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
