Joanne A. Gavrilos

Joanne Anthy (Fechalos) Gavrilos, 79, of Sheboygan, WI passed away on May 22nd after a long, arduous battle with kidney disease and dementia. Joanne was born on March 22, 1946, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of the late Anton and Lillian (Mehas) Fechalos. She graduated from Hammond Technical High School.
Joanne married the love of her life, Leo A. Gavrilos on February 23, 1969, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Hammond, IN. Joanne and Leo had been married for fifty-six years. Joanne worked as a teacher’s aide for the Sheboygan Area School District for 18 years, enriching the lives of all the young children she had the opportunity of working with.
Joanne was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church.
Remaining to cherish Joanne’s memory are her husband, Leo, children Andrew J. Gavrilos (Stephanie), and Leigh Ann N. Bohman (Jeffrey), grandchildren Alex E. Gavrilos, Nicholas T. Gavrilos, and Chase Bohman, brother, Bill Fechalos (Nancy), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joanne in death are her parents, brother George Fechalos , and sisters Kathie Rigas and Mary Phillips.
The visitation and funeral will be held on Friday, May 30th at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 1425 S. 10th Street in Sheboygan, WI. The visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Father Athanasios officiating.
Memorial donations in Joanne’s memory may be directed to Sharon Richardson Hospice.

I will miss your cheery smile, our conversations , especially about my nephew Paul. If I didn’t thank you , I am now , for taking such good care of him at the early learning center, you were his security and I am grateful . I extend my deep sympathy to Father Leo and their children and family. May she rest in paridise as she is reunited with her family especially her twin Kathy.
