Joanne Lois Bartzen, age 92, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born on August 1, 1931, in Cascade, WI. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Ninnemann Carpenter.

Joanne lived a long and joyful life, blessed with good health and the constant involvement with and love from family and friends. She also looked forward to getting together with her sisters every Sunday to watch the Brewer and Packer games.
Survivors include her three children, Michael (Lesslie) Bartzen, Julie (Neal) Ruffalo, both of Sheboygan, and Jeffrey Bartzen (partner Katy), of Stoughton, WI; six grandchildren, Jayson (partner Amber), Bryant (Jenny), Amber (Ryan), Tiana (Patrick), Jack, and Sadie; three great-grandchildren, Kenna, Landon, and Liam; two step-grandchildren, Britney and Taylor(Kay); two step great-grandchildren, Athena and Mia; and her two sisters, Marge Siefert and Faye Entringer. A memorial service for Joanne will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 917 Mead Ave. Sheboygan, with Rev. James Schulz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center, and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, for the compassion and care that was given to Joanne. So sorry to read of the passing of your mother and grandmother. Ironically, my mother passed on November 26, 2009. It's a mixed blessing to lose a loved one at holiday time. You have so many wonderful memories of sharing time during these days, but now will also have bittersweet feelings while missing her presence. Be ever so grateful for the many blessings shared.
