John Clifford “Jack” Bowser passed away peacefully at his home on November 8, 2022.
He was born in Oshkosh to Matthew and Mae (Hill) Bowser on November 13, 1929.
He attended St. Clement Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Central High School.
Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948 and later transitioned to a reservist until 1953.
On October 14, 1950 he was united in Holy Matrimony at St. Dominic Catholic Church to LaVerne Klein. Together they raised 8 children in homes filled with fun, laughter and singing.
Jack was gifted with a beautiful Irish Tenor voice which he shared for more than 50 years as a member of the St. Peter Claver Parish Choir, a wedding soloist, Golden Cordeliers member and half of “The Bowsers Two”, his father/son duo who performed at Geno’s Top of the First.
After a career in sales at Badger Paint, Tile World and The Sheboygan Press, he retired early to his newly found passion of golf. He joined Riverdale Golf Club and was a “Legend” for 36 years. He golfed his last 9 holes on May 13th at age 92.
Jack was a generous man who would do whatever he could to help make others’ lives a little easier. He had a terrific sense of humor, laugh and a whistle that accompanied him everywhere.
He is dearly missed by his devoted and cherished wife of 72 years LaVerne; eight children, Linda Boeldt, Diana Lautenschlager, Craig (Tina) Bowser, Paula Rakun, Carla (Terry) Hall, Debra (Eddie) Jesinski, Brent (Kathy) Bowser and Sonia (Dick) Feustel; 20 grandchildren, Derek (Kara) Boeldt, Jamie (Steve) Cook, Matt (Kristin) Lautenschlager, Lucas Bowser, Tim (Heather) Bowser, Kelly (Kenneth) Landis, Ben (Michelle) Rakun, Bart (Alyssa) Rakun, Josh (Noel) Feider, Marie (Chris) Rank, Kyle Jesinski, Erik (Kristie) Jesinski, Katé (Lee) Jahnz, Alexa (Jake) Chaffee, Greta Bowser, Jake Bowser, J (Kavanya) Feustel, Steven (Cassandra) Feustel, Tom Feustel and Baily Feustel; 23 great-grandchildren; sister Margie Kuehl and brother Bob (Dorothy) Bowser.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jack Rakun; four brothers, Matt, Joe, Jerry and Jimmy and one sister, Patty Gibson.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with Fr. Subi Thomas officiating. A gathering for family and friends will take place prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

SUSAN WOVERAS

Debra, Eddie and the entire Bowser clan; so sorry to hear of Jacks passing. It was an honor to know him and share in his wonderful, kind and uplifting presence. He is not the kind of person that one will soon forget. Love you all but more importantly he loved and cared about his family and friends. God Bless and remember all those special times you shared together!

Debra and family, So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. He had a long and wonderful life. I will always remember his beautiful singing voice. I still get goosebumps when I hear The Wedding Song that he sang at our wedding over 37 years ago. Rest in peace Mr. Bowser.
