John G. Guehna, age 62, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 27, 2021. He was born in Sheboygan on June 26, 1959, the son of the late Robert and Arlyn (Zehm) Guehna.
John attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1977. On March 26, 1983 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Grossheim. Bonnie preceded John in death on December 22, 2020. John was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at Kohler Company for 43 years, retiring in the spring of 2021.
He was a current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a prior Scout Master for Troop 822 with both his sons. John was a dedicated member of the Sheboygan Falls Conservation Club for 27 years and was also involved in many trap leagues in the area. John and Bonnie loved to travel; their adventures together led them to all 50 states. He enjoyed hunting the north woods of Wisconsin, fishing from his canoe, camping in the fall and the Green Bay Packers, John recently became an owner of the Packers as well. John cherished his two granddaughters and grandson.
Survivors include his two sons, Eric (Becky Johnson) Guehna of Sheboygan Falls, Adam (Abbie) Guehna of Poplar, WI; three grandchildren, Arlynn, Adeline and Abel; sister, Ellen (Derek) Morgan of Loveland, OH; cousin, David (Darla) Guehna of Perham, MN; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Guehna of Sheboygan, Mary (Brent) Wykhuis of Oostburg and Ruth (Jeff) Saueressig of New Berlin, two brothers-in-law, Dave (Teresa) Grossheim of Cedar Grove and Gary (Patti) Grossheim of Sheboygan. John is further survived by many other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his wife, parents, infant son Brian, a brother James Guehna, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Lois Grossheim.
A funeral service for John will be held on Monday, January 3, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1131 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan with Rev. Patrick Niles officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
