John O. Bruder, 93, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on Saturday, December 15, 2018. John was born on April 3, 1925, son of the late Oscar and Margaret Bruder, at home in Sheboygan. He went to St. Clement School and graduated from Central High School in 1943. Once he graduated from high school he enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. Upon return from the Navy, John went to De Forest Institute and earned a degree in electronics. He worked in Sheboygan for Van’s TV, was co-owner of John and Jerry’s TV Sales and Service and from there went on to own his own company, Union Electronics, from which he later retired. After retirement, John worked part time for Glanders. John loved spending time with his family, especially summers up north, going on roadtrips, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and golfing. He was a lifetime member of St. Clement Catholic Church and was an usher for the past 60 years. John also enjoyed his bible study. He was a member of VFW Post 1230 and the Knights of Columbus. He was a swell guy.

John is survived by his nine children Michael (Linda) Bruder of Amery, Linda (Robert) Ruppel of Sheboygan, Cathy (Frank) Laib of Cedarburg, Liz (James) Buchen of Madison, Tricia (Paul) Worth of Beaver Dam, Mary (Tom) Kellner of Howards Grove, Tim Bruder of Two Rivers, Peter (Janet) Bruder of New Holstein and Rebecca (Jeremy) Bruder-Ebert; grandchildren Jeremy (Maggie) and Kristin Bruder, Ben and Megan (fiancé Sang Han) Laib, Sasha Buchen, Kimberly Wucherer and Mike Worth and Mark (Andrea) Worth, Alex Kellner and Kevin Kellner (special friend Samantha Schaller and Jaylen), Jonathan Bruder and Kelsey (Sharleen) Bruder, and Kirstin and Abby; great-grandchildren Betty Bruder, Timothy Wucherer, Candice Wucherer, and William Duckett, Emmersyn and Oliver Bruder; brothers-in-law Jerome (Mary) Schlegel, Ronald (Lois) Landgraf; sisters-in-law Joan Schlegel, Sue Richter and Lila (Robert) Ognacevic.

John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty, grandson Jacob Worth, brother Norbert Bruder, sisters Margie Ognacevic and Elouise Schultz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Clement Catholic Church, 707 N. 6th St., Sheboygan, with Fr. Gideon Buya officiating. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Mausoleum. Visitation will take place at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice team and a special thank you to Dr. Coulis and his staff.
