Judy Kay Wodach, 83, passed April 14th, 2024 at SSC with her family by her side. The former Judy Rodemerk was born on April 4, 1941, in Sheboygan, to the late Hans and Caroline (Mohr) Rodemerk. She attended local Sheboygan schools, graduating from Central High School. On Sept 1, 1962, she married Edward W. Wodach in Des Plaines, IL.

Judy was employed by several grocery stores in Sheboygan as a cashier, eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise her children. Later she provided care for her niece, nephew, and two grandchildren. Judy enjoyed taking them on bus rides around town, shopping and swimming in the backyard pool. She loved watching sports in general, watching her son compete in baseball, football and swimming, along with her grandchildren’s competitive swimming. You could find her on the pool deck for most of their home swim meets at South High. Judy enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to Lauderdale by the Sea, FL, where they met many people from cold climates. For many years Judy and Ed would spend Labor Day weekend in Door County with their children and grandchildren, celebrating their wedding anniversary. Judy loved to bowl and was in many bowling leagues in the city. She was even a Class D State Women’s Singles Champ!

She loved to sing and watch the Hallmark channel. Decorating for every holiday was something she enjoyed the most. Even up to her last days she had a little Christmas tree in her room which she would change for each upcoming holiday. She gave the most amazing gifts without having the internet or ever having a driver’s license. It was catalogs and a phone for her. She gave to various charitable foundations, but especially enjoyed donating to St. Jude’s. Judy was extremely excited to find out on Easter Sunday that she was going to become a great grandma in September.

She was a big fan of Elvis and Frank Sanitra and saw them both in concert. On one of her last days, she belted out Frank Sinatra’s “Fly me to the Moon”!

Survivors include her husband, Ed; daughter, Sherri (Dick) Schieble; son, Ed (Jean) Wodach; granddaughter, Stephanie (Travis) Baughman, and grandson, Derek Schieble. Sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Hoppe, Nancy (Randy) Schmahl, Wendy Gruenke, and brother-in-law, Ray (Joan) Wodach. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, additional family & friends. Judy was preceded in death by, her parents and her father and mother-in-law William & Edna (Hammer) Wodach.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at SSC, where she has been a resident since the fall of 2023, for the wonderful care they gave Judy.

Judy wishes were to be cremated and have a private celebration of life with her family at a later date. A memorial fund has been set up in her name for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Sheboygan Senior Community.
