Karen Ann (Paulson) Christenson of Sheboygan went home suddenly to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 25th, 2023. She was near her children, grandchildren, and loving family and friends.
Karen was born on November 4, 1948, to Harvey and Carita (Schmidt) Paulson. She attended Franklin Elementary School, Farnsworth Middle School, and Graduated from South High School in 1967. She went on to earn a Social Work Degree from UW Milwaukee in 1971 and worked for several years as a Social Worker for Lutheran Social Services. She met the love of her life Bruce, in college and they married on July 17th, 1971. She became a stay-at-home mom once her children were born. Karen was active in her children’s school and worked as a room mother, VBS teacher and hosted many parties for their friends. She planned wonderful vacations for her family especially the yearly pilgrimage to Crivitz and the summer excursions to
Six Flags.
The one thing everyone can agree on is that Karen loved everyone she met with an unconditional love and had the strongest faith in her Lord and Savior. She was not afraid to go “home” and be with the love of her life and her “Peenekins” Bruce. She lived her life to make other people feel special and opened the Christenson home to anyone in need, especially on holidays. She enjoyed her evenings out with her wonderful group of friends having her Kessler “Old Fashioned” Seltzers with Bitters, (no mix). The impact Karen left on this world is felt by anyone who knew her.
Karen is survived by her daughter Kelly Brotz; son, TJay (Julie) Christenson; grandchildren, Aiden, Rylee, Brenna, and Nolan Brotz; brothers, Ralph (Judy) Paulson; brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many friends who became family. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce, parents Harvey and Carita (Schmidt) Paulson, brothers Harvey (Jeanie) Paulson and Herb Paulson, and so many dear friends.
A funeral service for Karen will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 County Road PPP, Sheboygan Falls. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Karen’s name.
