Karen Jean Klabechek, 74, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. Karen was born to the late Earl and Marian (Schleining) Graskamp on October 24, 1950. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School, class of 1969. In 1971, Karen was united in marriage to Michael Klabechek on the 16th of January at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Karen worked at Lakeland Manufacturing Company and Woodlake Market but primarily stayed home to raise her family. Karen loved to sew, a craft she learned from her grandfather who was a tailor. She loved spending time with and taking care of her grandson as well as her pets.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Kristie (Randal II) Richter; grandson, Michael; brothers, Earl, Gary and Randal Graskamp; sister, Karla Worth; aunt, Betty Acosta and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and her elder sister, Diane Graskamp, who died as an infant.
In accordance with Karen’s wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff in the surgical ICU at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee for the care they provided.
