Karyn Hahn, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Karyn was born on October 2, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Walter and Florence (Malecki) Dern. She attended Sheboygan Central High School. Karyn was united in marriage to Wayne Hahn in Sheboygan on August 2, 1974. She worked at Citizens Bank as well as The What Knot Shop and Handmade Shop. She ultimately co-owned and operated The Handmade House in Manitowoc before retiring in 2000.
Karyn was a very creative person who enjoyed art, crafting, and decorating. She also enjoyed gardening, loved photography and was a great cook. Karyn had a big heart for animals, especially the many dogs and cats which became her loving pets over the years. She was also passionate about caring for homeless cats.
Karyn will be missed by her loving husband of 49 years, Wayne; children, James (Carrie) Olsen and Todd (Jan) Lindemann; step children Hope Bruggink and Keith (Sharon) Hahn; grandchild Levi Lindemann; step grandchildren Stephanie Bruggink (Zach), Sierra Bruggink, Andrew (Aubrey) Hahn and Jacob Hahn (Brie); step great-granddaughter Charlotte Hahn; cousin Gloria Struhelka; and good friends Joan and Jim Gould, Laura and Randy Shimek, and Margie and Bob Conn.
Honoring Karyn’s wishes, a private service was held at the Garden Terrace Mausoleum at Lutheran Cemetery.
Any memorials will be donated to the Humane Society of Sheboygan County in Karyn’s name.
