Kathleen Balnaitis was born on June 25, 1947 and passed away on March 6, 2022 at the age of 74. Many people knew Kathy as “K.B.” She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School on June 10, 1965. She continued her education at Spencerian College and graduated on May 27, 1967. Kathy was united in marriage to her former husband Thomas A. Balnaitis at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on June 7, 1969. During her working years, she was employed by E&K Hauling/Onyx and retired from Fischer Fleet Service in June of 2012. She enjoyed spending time at her parent’s cottage in Lakewood, WI where she would water-ski, golf and cross-country ski with her family. Kathy was involved in bowling, darts and golf leagues and was an avid reader and Packer fan. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and putting together the E&K Christmas party. Kathy was always singing, dancing, listening to music, and was the life of the party and the last to leave. She had a strong love for family and would attend all of her grandkids dance recitals and sporting events.
Kathy is survived by her children, Ann Marie (Rick) Buboltz and John (Stephanie) Balnaitis. She was affectionately known as nahni to Paige Buboltz and Cale Buboltz, and further survived by brother, Thomas (Beverly) Dekanich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sophia Dekanich.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave., Sheboygan, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Timothy Mech officiating. A private family entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Kathy’s name for Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
Kathy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and supporting friend. Her kind and generous ways will be missed. Her journey on earth is complete and she now rests in the arms of her Lord.
“These we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.” -Unknown

I am so sorry to hear about Kathy's passing. We were good friends in high school and college. Unfortunately. we lost touch, but I remember how full of life she was; energetic, loved to have fun, a good roommate and very thoughtful. God bless her family and friends, remembering that she is now with our Lord and Savior,

So sorry to hear KB has passed away. She was always fun to be with no matter where we were!

Ann, John, and families, Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your mom. I will always remember her and the times we shared from childhood on in both Sheboygan, Chicago, and Lakewood. Being the same age, although she was always sure to point out that I was 3 months older, we had so much in common. She is at peace now, no longer in pain and suffering, and with all of our family members that passed before her. May she rest in peace in the arms of the angels. Jane and Mike Castelli
