Kenneth J. Leitner, age 81, of Sheboygan passed away Tuesday morning, January 15, 2019 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Kenneth was born April 3, 1937 in Sheboygan to the late Frank and Margaret (Christy) Leitner.  He attended St. Peter Claver grade school and graduated from Central High School in 1955.  During his high school years, he was the manager of the football and basketball teams.  Kenneth was an equipment manager for the Sheboygan Red Wings Football team for 8 years and enjoyed following the Packers and Badgers.  Kenneth was employed by Hydraulic Tool and then at Lear Inc. prior to his retirement.

Kenneth is survived by his sisters: Mary Lou Hauch, and Donna (Ken) Holfeltz nieces: Christy McClure, Margaret Monk, Beth Bandy, Cindy Keitel and Julie Holfeltz nephews: Jim, John, Mark and Mike and Brian Leitner, Brad Holfeltz and Bill and Wes Monk. He is further survived by friends Al and Karen Young and family, Wally and Grace Reklaitis, Rhyan and Heather Zimmerman and Bill and Linda Schaefer.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernie (Jessie) Leitner, Ray (Shirley) Leitner, Frank (Elsie) Leitner, and Alois Hauch sister and brother-in-law Dolores (Charles) Monk. He was further preceded in death by friends Delores, Scott and Wendy Heinen, Dan Fjeldstad, Jim Stein and Morrie VanderJagt.

Family and friends may call at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 11th Street, Sheboygan from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019.  Mass of Christian Burial of will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday with Fr. Paul Fliss, officiating.  Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Kenneth’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Drs. Martella, Horth, Bettag and to the staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their wonderful care.
