Kurt Robert Kummer, 59, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday April 6, 2023, at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee from complications of heart failure. Kurt’s family was with him. Kurt was born November 18, 1963 in Sheboygan to Robert and Judith (Capelle) Kummer. Kurt was a 1982 graduate of North High School and graduated from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in 1991. Kurt proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1983-1985. Kurt was employed at the Sheboygan Press. Kurt was happy any day that he was riding on his motorcycle. Kurt enjoyed time spent with his family – Friday picnics and being together at the Lakefront. Also time spent with Bret, Rob, Corbin and Scott in “Dad’s Garage”.
Kurt is survived by his mom, Judy Kummer, two brothers, Bret (Tina) Kummer of LaCrosse and Rob Kummer of Sheboygan, niece Lauren (Brad) Thompson and nephew Corbin (Cheyenne) Kummer. Aunts Karen Hendricks, Corliss Kummer, Janine Capelle and Uncle Jack (Jill) Capelle. Special friends Justin, Anne, and Maitland Ramm.
Kurt was preceded in death by his dad Bob Kummer and his grandparents Theresa and Walter Kummer, and Waldemar, Clara and Julie Capelle.
There will be a graveside service held at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler on Monday April 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Beth Petzke officiating. VFW Post #9156 will provide military honors. To celebrate Kurt’s life – stop in between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Monday April 24, 2023, at Bourbon Street Pub and Grill, 1536 Indiana Ave., Sheboygan.
Thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses who took very good care of Kurt in the ICU at St. Lukes and Ascension Select Specialty Hospitals. Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kurt’s arrangements.
