Larrie J. James, age 73 of Sheboygan died peacefully at home by his wife’s side early Tuesday morning April 6, 2021. Larrie was born February 15, 1948 in Kenosha to the late Ralph and Bernice (Morroway) James. He was united in marriage to Noreen Stuiber on March 23, 1989 in Milwaukee. Larrie was employed as a furniture maker at Kayson Furniture in Milwaukee, and then worked as a security officer at St. Mary’s Columbia Hospital for 17 years. After moving to Sheboygan, he was employed as an IT tech at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where he made friends and was affectionately known as “B”. Larrie was a passionate free spirit gifted in creating music, writing songs/poetry, singing, and drawing. He had a couple of songs published and also played at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Larrie had a soft spot for animals and loved his dogs Billy, Tiny and especially fond of his late canine companion, Bently Blue. Larrie had many friends through school and work and was grateful for all the loving people in his life. He never forgot an incredibly special person in his life, “99”. He had a beautiful and amazing journey where he left an indelible mark on and in our hearts to cherish forever.
Survivors include his loving wife Noreen, sister Valerie James of Campbellsport, son Jesse (Mary) Burg of West Bend, daughters Renee James of Sullivan, Jennifer (Stefan) James-Gieryn of Whitewater and Holly James (Chris Forker) of Waterford. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Bobby, Emily, Jasmine, Braden, and Keaton, great grandchildren Robbie and Owen, nephews, Mickey, Eddie and Lonnie, and niece Meredith. He is also survived by his adopted daughter in kind, Sara who called him “Pops”, sister-in-law JoEllen James and a brother-in-law Bob Ostrander.
Larrie was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Regina Ostrander and Linda James, brother Jerome “Jerry” James, and niece Irene Kitchen.

There will be a time to celebrate and honor Larrie’s life at a later date.

Noreen, My deepest sympathy for your loss. Larrie took Joey and I under his wing at a time when our formative and creating juices were just beginning to flourish. I am saddened to lose you. I know you are no longer suffering and are at peace. You were a true friend that I have known almost all of my life. You were always an inspiration and guiding light. You will be missed.

I couldn't have done it better myself (and you know that's saying something coming from a nurse! LOL). You gave Dad dignity, peace and comfort throughout it all. It’s difficult knowing that Larrie won’t be physically with us now. I was just little guy when Larrie and Noreen met. I remember the Orange Volkswagen Stationwagon they had. They would pick me up and take me for a picnic every so often. Those were good times. As I got older, Larrie and I would talk about more esoteric and mysterious subjects. The time always flew by with those discussions. I’m glad I got to know him over the years. He was a very special person to me and I’ll miss him. My love and prayers go out to him and his family and friends. But most of all to my sister Noreen. Time will never completely heal the sorrow of losing Larrie, but you’ve got all of us to lean on if you need us. Love you so very much.
My deepest sympathy to you Noreen, my sweet daughter, and Larrie’s family and friends. During this past year, Larrie and I enjoyed sending letters to each other. He always enjoyed getting a hand written letter in the mail. It was usually about how he was feeling and how much he loved Noreen and his dogs. I’ll truly miss Larrie and will be sending him prayers now instead of letters. May he Rest In Peace and his soul be welcomed into God’s loving embrace.
