Leon L. Goodwin Jr., age 87, of Sheboygan, died on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. He was born in Hancock, WI, on March 18, 1935, the son of the late Leon Goodwin Sr. and Pearl Powell.
He attended local schools in the Hancock area. On February 21, 1963, he was united in marriage to Dawn Burris. Leon and Dawn spent over 60 years together. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War. Leon was employed at the Kohler Company until his health forced him to retire early.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Leon was a Milwaukee Brewers and a Dallas Cowboys fan. He also was a University of Wisconsin sports fan especially football and basketball.
Survivors include his two sons, Jerry (Georgia) Goodwin, of Hancock, WI, and Steve (fiancée Brenda) Goodwin, of Sheboygan; a daughter, Judy (Mike) Nigbor, of Wautoma, WI; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy) Aldag, of Colorado, David Goodwin, of Florida, Jonny (Megan) Goodwin, of Plover, WI, Sarah (Eric) Pirrung, of Missouri, Taylor (Damian) Olds and Parker Goodwin, both of Marshfield, and Mitchell (Heather) Nigbor, of Hancock, WI; eleven great-grandchildren, Zach, Brianna, Katelin, Chase, Aubreigh, Wyatt, Conner, Garrett, McKayla, McKenzy, and Auden. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Stacey Goodwin, and his brothers and sisters.
A memorial service for Leon will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home and Crematory, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with James Wilhite officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com
