Mae Ann Mueller, age 86, of Sheboygan, was called to glory on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, surrounded by her children in the home she lovingly raised them in. Born in Sheboygan on May 13, 1939, to the late Arvin and Annie (Sinner) Eickhoff, Mae Ann grew up in the Millhome community and attended the Kiel Area School District, graduating from Kiel High School in 1957. Following graduation, she pursued her passion for beauty and enrolled in the Milwaukee School of Cosmetology.
On April 4, 1959, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Mueller, in rural Kiel. The couple shared 39 cherished years together before his passing in 1998, making their home in Sheboygan and raising four devoted children. Mae’s greatest gift to her children was nurturing their faith—having them baptized in the name of Christ and guiding them to affirm their faith through confirmation in the Lutheran Church.
Mae Ann began her career as a stylist at Prange’s Department Store Salon in Sheboygan from 1958 to 1963. She went on to own and operate Northgate Beauty Salon for more than 30 years, from 1964 until 1995, and later worked at Cut-Rite Family Hair Care. Throughout her career, her many loyal clients became cherished friends, and she took great pride in her work as both a stylist and small business owner.
A lifelong woman of faith, Mae Ann was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Sheboygan. She treasured her church community, participated in Bible studies, and found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: league bowling, family vacations, walking her German Shepherd Ida, cooking for her family, praying the common table prayer, baking with her children every Christmas season, celebrating holidays with extended family, and reading daily devotions. Known for her warmth, hospitality, and generosity, Mae Ann always opened her home for family gatherings and delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mae Ann is survived by her three children, Sherri Mueller of Sheboygan, Ken (Amy) Mueller of Kohler, and John Mueller of Sheboygan; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Eunice Eickhoff of Howards Grove and Vivian Mueller of Oconomowoc, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth; her son David Mueller; her brother Erwin Eickhoff; her brother-in-law Jerome Mueller; and her sister-in-law Shirley Rieder.
A funeral service for Mae Ann will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Avenue, Sheboygan, with Pastor Timothy J. Mech officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. Mae Ann will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Aurora at Home Hospice staff, especially Amber, Cerrenity, and John, to her caregiver Jody, and to hairstylist Deana for their exceptional care and compassion. A special thank you is also extended to Meals on Wheels and their caring volunteers.
Mae Ann’s life was a testament to faith, love, and family, and her legacy of devotion to Christ and her cherished loved ones will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
