Mamie M. Schoerner, age 91, of Sheboygan, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Nicholas Hospital. She was a resident of Shores of Sheboygan for the past three years. Mamie was born on January 18, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Emma Bolle McCandless.
She attended local schools in Menasha, WI. On July 14, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arthur Schoerner Sr. in Mineral Wells, TX. Arthur preceded her in death in January of 1998. Following Arthur’s military service they resided in Sheboygan. In their retirement they became winter Texans and enjoyed living in McAllen. Mamie was a proud homemaker and took pride in raising her five children, Ronald, Dorothy, Arthur Jr., John and Randy.
She was a Red Hats member and volunteered for Project Angel Hugs also. Mamie enjoyed crocheting and making lap robes for veterans.
Survivors include her four sons, Ronald (Nita), of Sheboygan, Arthur Jr. (Beverly), of Ocala, FL, John (Jodi), of Plymouth and Randy, of Plymouth; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and eight great great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dorothy, husband, great-grandson Jarrett, two brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service for Mamie will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan with Rev. Nathan Meador officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials in her name may be directed to Project Angel Hugs 307 E. Mill Street Plymouth, WI 53073. The family would like to thank Shores of Sheboygan and ICU staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for their compassion and care that was given to her.
