Margarita Yurk, age 83, of Sheboygan passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025. Margarita was born May 27, 1942, in Laredo, TX to the late Guadelupe and Delfina (Garza) Salazar. She was united in marriage to Fred Yurk December 22, 1981, in Laredo, TX; he preceded her in death December 24, 2016. Margarita was a faithful member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was an educational assistant starting her employment in 1978 at Head Start, the Little Red School House and retired from the Early Learning Center. Margarita was a kind, generous, and loving person who held a significant place in her family’s lives and treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the family gatherings at the casino in Green Bay with all the brothers and sisters. This was a time of fostering closer relationships among them. Survivors include her children Rosalinda “Rosa” Chavez of TX, Diana (Sean) Chavez-McMillin of Appleton, Elena Weinfurter of Sheboygan Falls, Christine “Chris” (Rick) Flood of Sheboygan, Dennis (Shelley) Yurk of Manitowoc, Thomas “Thom” Yurk of Sheboygan, Pamela “Pam” (Mark) Richter of Port Washington, Amy (Dan) Kiedrowski of Sheboygan, 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters Theresa (Tom) Yoakum of Sheboygan and Lydia Tolle of San Antonio, four sisters-in-law Mary (Marvin) Foster of Sheboygan Falls, Jean Yurk of Sheboygan, Pat Yurk of Sheboygan, Debbie Yurk of Sheboygan, and a brother-in-law Chuck (Wendy) Yurk of Sheboygan. Margarita was preceded in death by her husbands’ Armando Chavez and Fred Yurk, daughter-in-law Wendy Yurk, sons-in-law Steve Weinfurter, and Roy Kloppenburg, grandson Anthony Schleicher, granddaughter Sherri Flood, brothers-in-law Christian Yurk, John (Marilyn) Yurk, James Yurk, Dick Yurk, Paul Yurk, Darrell Tolle, and Jim Newman, sisters-in-law Barbara (Larry) Holzer, Kaye (Bob) King, Judy Valenta and nephews Travis Yurk, and Jayson Yurk. Family and friends may gather at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan on Friday September 19, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. The family is deeply grateful to the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, who provided exceptional care and support, making our mother’s transition to the next chapter of her life easier.
