Marilyn Grace (Degner) Eberhardt, age 83 years, went to her heavenly home on July 8, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was born in the Town of Woodland, Sauk County, Wisconsin, on September 15, 1940, to Herbert F. and Grace (Rick) Degner. Baptized into Christ as an infant, she was confirmed in the Christian faith at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wonewoc, Wisconsin on Palm Sunday, April 11, 1954. Graduated from Wonewoc High School with the Class of 1958, she attended Madison Business College and began working for the U.S. Agriculture Department in the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1968, she transferred to the Washington, D.C., office. While there, she met the Marine who would become her husband, Ralph Eberhardt. They married on May 13, 1972, at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wonewoc and made their home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where they were blessed by God in raising five daughters. She worked for a time at C. Reiss Coal Company. Marilyn deeply cherished her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Alongside her husband and with her family, she communed with all the saints as a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and now enjoys the fullness of that blessed communion in Heaven.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Ralph Eberhardt of Sheboygan and their five daughters, Gretchen (Reverend Frank) Italiano of Crete, Illinois, Dorcas (Anthony) Soda of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Lydia (Scott) Kuznicki of Sheboygan, Rachel (Josh) Rose of Hartford, Wisconsin, and Ruth Eberhardt of Fremont, Wisconsin. She is survived also by her sister Beverly (John) Biermeier of La Crosse, Wisconsin, father-in-law William Eberhardt of Janesville, Wisconsin, and brother-in-law Richard Eberhardt. She was blessed with beloved grandchildren Madelyn, Margaret, Melody, and Frank III Italiano, Thomas, Lucas, Curtis, and Marcus Soda, Richard, Matthew, Scarlet, and Lily Rose, and Noah and Owen Danke. She was a blessing to many nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends all across Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Grace, mother-in-law Louise Eberhardt, sisters Julaine Miller, Donna Giles, and Nancy Richert, brothers Herbert L. Degner and Eugene Degner, brother-in-law William Eberhardt, and many other relatives.
With certain confidence in the resurrection of the dead and assurance of the life everlasting, a Christian funeral will be held at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church (2132 N 27th Street at Geele Avenue) in Sheboygan on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.
