Mark Lensink, 74, of Oostburg, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 28, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on September 5, 1949 and lived east of Oostburg.
Mark is survived by his wife, Joanne (Jagerink) Lensink; children: Nathan Lensink, (Gisela Ebbers), and Peter Lensink; grandchildren: Olive and Willa Lensink; step-grandchildren: Tyler, Spencer, Jaymee and Jared Ebbers; sisters: Ann Lammers, Mary Theune, Sandy VanStelle and Laurel Fischer. A large family of many beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Laura (Ver Gowe) Lensink and three brothers: Bill, Dan, and Paul Lensink.
Mark served his country in the army in Texas and Korea. He attended UWSheboygan. He owned and operated Great Lakes Bindery – sales and service of printing press folding machines.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles and brainteasers and would never miss the 6:00 p.m. “Jeopardy” on TV. He was an avid re-cycler, composter and caretaker of the environment. He loved to joke and brought levity to all those around him. His interest in challenging puzzles and his skill and background in mechanics led to him tinkering in the garage, fixing and deconstructing various machines and recycling the parts while listening to public programming. Most of all he loved to be with his family and friends.
A funeral service for Mark will be held on Friday, February 9, at St Paul’s UCC, Sheboygan at 2114 Wedemeyer St. with Rev. Jeremy Hylen officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church Friday afternoon 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:30 p.m.
Following the funeral service will be a Celebration of Life for all friends and family 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hops Haven at 1327 North 14th St. in Sheboygan.
