Marlys Jean Kleckner

Marlys Jean Kleckner, 89, of Sheboygan, passed away on September 29, 2025, at St. Nicholas Hospital. Marlys was born to the late Louis and Etta (Miske) Krepsky on January 30, 1936, in Kohler, WI. She was a graduate of Kohler High School, class of 1954. On October 24, 1959, Marlys was united in marriage to Thomas Kleckner at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. After Thomas passed away in 1977, Marlys continued to support and raise their three children on her own. She worked at LTC for 23 years and retired in 1998.

Marlys was part of the Sheboygan County Quilters Guild, where she enjoyed friendship at quilter’s retreats and on quilting trips. Marlys especially enjoyed making quilts for at¬ risk babies in the hospital. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and vacationing with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

Marlys is survived by her children; David (Linda) Kleckner, Steven (Ann) Kleckner and Lynette (William) Maass; grandchildren, Lindsay Kleckner, Kristen and TJ (Emma) Kleckner, and Samuel and Aaron Maass; and two sisters-in-law, Marlene and Joanne Kleckner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Babe) Krepsky and Ronald (Kathryn) Krepsky.

A memorial service will be held for Marlys at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2132 N. 27th St., Sheboygan, with visitation at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Daniel Voigt will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Johannes Lutheran Cemetery in Cleveland, WI.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sheboygan Senior Community for their loving care and for treating her like family. Thanks also to the compassionate staff of HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for making her last moments peaceful.

A memorial has been established in Marlys’ name.
