Mary A. Licht, 78, of Kiel, passed away at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on Friday, September 3, 2021 with her family by her side. Mary was born to the late Carl Sr. and Florence Lund on June 18, 1943 in Stanley, WI where she grew up and attended Stanley High School. Mary loved growing up on the farm with her family and always enjoyed playing, and watching her family play, horseshoe. Mary was united in marriage to Joseph Licht on June 23, 1973 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, WI. She worked for Heritage Nursing Home as a caregiver for many years and continued later working for Visiting Nurses where she gave in-home care to elderly individuals. Mary always made a house a home when she was there. There was always food on the table and nobody ever left hungry. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a loving heart and was a foster mom in Sheboygan County for many children.
Mary is survived by her husband, Joseph; children, Pam (Dean), Michelle (Mike), Donald “Duck” (Kim), Brian, William (Lorraine) and Yieanna; daughter-in-law Linda; sister, Shirley (Ed) Setzer; grandchildren, Joey, Anthony “Porky”, Timothy, Jessie, Heather, Cole, Alex, Dakota Manier, Erica, Dakota Marzinske, and Dario; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother- and father-in-law, Norbert and Dorothy Licht; son, Thomas; siblings, Lucille, Dorothy, Carl Jr., Gerald, Gordon, Donald and Marilyn as well as other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with visitation taking place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff and nurses at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
