Mary Ann Wentz

Mary Ann Wentz was born on June 20, 1936 and passed away peacefully at Countryside Manor on February 20, 2023 at the age of 86. She attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School with the class of 1954. Mary Ann was united in marriage with Warren Wentz at St. Paul’s Lutheran on July 2, 1955. During her working years she was employed by the Prange Company for 32 years and at Nemschoff for 10 years. She was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was in the Altar Guild, choir and a Bethesda Volunteer. Mary Ann enjoyed bowling, BINGO, Tops Group and going to the cottage up north.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Debra (Gary) Dekker, Wanda (Jim) Horzen, Peggy (Dan) Tresp, Karen (Dave) Tresp, David (Susannah) Wentz and Rob (Jenny) Wentz; grandchildren, Mandy (Terek) Ertman, Jeremy Dekker, Matthew (Abby Safranski) Horzen, Megan Horzen, Ryan (Sara) Tresp, Jennifer (Lucas) Oppeneer, Andrew (fiancé Bella Ertel) Tresp, Connor Tresp, Emily (Patrick) Stillwell, Benjamin (fiancé Shayna Schneider) Wentz, Lauren Wentz and Abigail Wentz; great-grandchildren, Aryssa Ertman, Tailyn Ertman, Taria Ertman, Jackson Tresp, Carter Tresp, Bryson Oppeneer, Parker Oppeneer, Adeline, Emmett and Maggie Stillwell and Elliot Wentz; sister, Betty Hutchison; sister-in-law, Jane Novak and best friend Millie Metscher. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Wentz; parents, James and Goldie Novak; siblings, Jerry Novak, James Novak, LaVern Novak and Charlotte Rudie and brother-in-law, Norman Rudie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1818 N. 13th St., Sheboygan, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Guests attending are encouraged to wear red as it was Mary Ann’s favorite color. Memorial may be made to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Countryside Manor in Mary Ann’s name.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the nurses and staff at Countryside Manor and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the loving care they provided to Mary Ann.
