Mary F. Bermke, age 91, of Sheboygan, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Azura Memory Care in Sheboygan with her family at her side. She was born in Stanley, WI on November 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Verdith Ingels Konsella.

Mary attended schools in Wild Rose, WI and then graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, WI in 1949. On July 3, 1950, Mary was united in marriage to Allen Bermke in Waukegan, IL. He preceded her in death in 2018.

Mary was a “professional housekeeper” for residents in the Sheboygan area. She developed many lifelong friendships with her clients throughout the years. In her younger years she was a troop leader with the Girl Scouts. Mary was a past member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, flowers, feeding the squirrels, and taking walks at Kohler-Andrae State Park. Mary also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known to grandchildren as “Cookie Grandma.” One of Mary’s favorite quotes to her family was “Don’t worry, it will be gone by the time you get married.”

Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy (Bill) Grunert, of Sheboygan and Sandy (Andy) Doedens, of Cedarburg; five grandchildren, Christopher (Angie) Loewen, Katie (Collin) Powell, Chad Doedens, Luke Doedens, Kelly (Steven) Bilotta; ten great-grandchildren and her fury friend, “Parker.” Mary is also survived by her brother, Harve Konsella, a stepsister, Lynn Scroggins and a stepbrother, Eugene Morrow. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband and a granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Doedens, all preceded her in death.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Chapel of Eternal Light, 6706 Superior Ave. Town of Sheboygan. Family and friends may gather in the chapel on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mary’s name. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Heartland Hospice and Azura Memory Care for the compassion and care that was given to her.
